🎯 SCRATCH PRO – Sustainable Business Matters: From Scratch to Pitch

One month ago, our team returned from an unforgettable Erasmus+ youth exchange in Cyprus, where participants from 9 countries gathered to explore sustainable business ideas and develop their entrepreneurial skills from scratch to pitch! πŸ’‘πŸŒ±

In Georgia, we proudly carried out our Follow-Up Activity by sharing the knowledge and experiences we gained with a group of local young people. We facilitated engaging workshops, creative challenges, and teamwork activities that helped them explore sustainability, innovation, and social impact through business.

πŸ”₯ The energy, curiosity, and creativity shown by the participants were truly inspiring. It was clear that Erasmus+ creates real change – not only for those who travel but for whole communities back home.

We conducted follow-up activities with young people from national minorities, during which we introduced them to the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.
As part of the meeting, we selected a creative activity β€” participants were asked to invent any fictional item and create an advertisement for it. The youth worked in groups, actively and enthusiastically. The process was engaging and brought them a lot of joy and interest.
By the end of the meeting, the participants had a deeper understanding of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program and expressed their desire to be involved in similar activities in the future.

I had a chance to participate in an amazing project in Pissouri, Cyprus in May where we gain an understanding of sustainable business through activities, presentations and hands on discussions. Based on the SDGs agenda 2030, we were called to create our own business idea which we presented at the end of the project.

During these amazing days, we not only handled non formal educational staff but also we had fun, made new friendships and created unforgettable memories with all the participants.

A big thank you to ACPELIA for organising everything and being there for everyone! and Georgian NGO Umbrella who does incredible work for Georgian youth πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ͺ

We organized follow-up sessions with young people from national minorities to introduce them to the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.

To make the experience interactive, we included a creative group activity where participants were invited to imagine a fictional product and develop an advertisement for it. This playful task sparked creativity and teamwork, with participants showing great enthusiasm and energy throughout.

The session proved to be both fun and meaningful β€” not only did it spark interest and laughter, but it also deepened participants' understanding of the Erasmus+ program. Many of them shared their excitement and expressed interest in taking part in similar initiatives in the future.

Participating in the "SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MATTERS: from scratch to pitch (SCRATCH-PRO)" project was an inspiring and enriching experience for me. Regarding the organization of the whole project, I found the communication and flow of information to be clear and consistent. From the pre-activities to internal agreements and project dissemination, everything was well-structured. The updates through the Facebook page were very helpful in keeping us informed before and during the program. I also appreciated the way the organizers kept us engaged with preparatory tasks that helped set the mood for the training.

The implementation of the PDA was one of the highlights for me. The sessions were interactive and hands-on, encouraging us to work in teams, share ideas, and develop our own MVPs. The facilitators were supportive and made the learning process dynamic and practical. The feedback we received after each step helped us improve our projects and presentation skills.

As for the follow-up activities, we organized an in-person event where we introduced a fun and educational exercise called "Bad Product Marketing." Through this activity, we demonstrated how you can promote any productβ€”even something undesirableβ€”by using creative marketing strategies. It was both entertaining and informative, helping us practice sales and communication skills. We also conducted situational games to engage the audience, shared detailed information about Erasmus+ opportunities, and discussed the benefits of participating in such projects. The participants were very interested and asked many questions about Erasmus+, giving us the opportunity to share our experiences and motivate them to apply in the future. This follow-up activity helped keep the project's spirit alive and allowed us to improve our public speaking and event management skills.

The added value of the project for me was not only the knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and sustainability but also the personal growth I experienced. Meeting people from different countries, learning from their perspectives, and collaborating on real projects truly broadened my horizons. The PDA implementation was a great way to put theory into practice.

If I could suggest one thing for improvement, it would be to allow more time for group work during the PDA phase. Sometimes it felt a bit rushed, and having extra time would have helped us polish our ideas even more. Also, maybe providing us with some training materials in advance would be beneficial for preparation.

What I liked most was the positive and motivating atmosphere created by the organizers, the interactive learning methods, and the intercultural exchanges during social evenings. What I liked less was the limited time for some activities, as I wished we had longer sessions for deeper group discussions.

Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunity to participate in this project. It has left me with new skills, great memories, and a strong motivation to implement what I've learned in my community.

The ACPELLIA project was truly an inspiring experience for me. From an organizational standpoint, everything was very clear: we received all the necessary information in advance, a detailed schedule, and internal agreements, which immediately created a sense of confidence and involvement. The Facebook group and regular communication also played an important role β€” everything was transparent, accessible, and timely. The preliminary activities helped us better prepare and understand the goals of the project, and throughout the program, we felt genuine support from the organizers.

The activities themselves were truly enriching. I especially remember the exercise "You in 5 years," which made me reflect on my personal goals and possible paths for development. The session on MVP (Minimum Viable Product) was also very impressive, and the assignment "Bad Product Marketing" turned out to be not only fun but also very useful for developing creative thinking, improvisation, and teamwork skills.

Our follow-up event was held in person and became a great opportunity to consolidate the knowledge and experience gained. We repeated the "Bad Product Marketing" session, and the participants were absolutely thrilled. It was clear how much we had grown during the project: ideas became bolder, presentations more confident, and teamwork even more coordinated. In addition, during the follow-up, we also informed participants about opportunities to participate in Erasmus+ programs and other international youth initiatives, which sparked great interest and inspired many. This meeting was not just a continuation but a real step toward further development.

The project gave me not only practical skills but also inspiration. I realized that I am capable of creating something meaningful in my country and saw how many active and talented young people are ready to take action and change the world for the better. PDA helped me understand how important it is to listen to others, respect different opinions, and find common solutions.

For future projects, participants thought it would be useful to strengthen support after the main part β€” for example, through mentoring or help with launching one's own initiatives. It was a bit unfortunate that we could not visit the farm in person on the last day β€” this would have added more practical value and connection to the topics of sustainability and entrepreneurship.

What I liked most were the evening reflections, theatrical and creative tasks β€” they created an atmosphere of trust, openness, and inner motivation. Overall, ACPELIA became an unforgettable part of my personal and professional growth. I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity!
