Follow Up Romania

The Romanian team carried the spirit of SCRATCH-PRO back home, transforming inspiration into action. At Zbor Hub in Iași, they gathered 25 youth workers and young people to explore how entrepreneurship can drive social and environmental change. Through interactive discussions, leadership exercises, and linking project ideas to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, participants gained practical tools, confidence, and motivation to turn ideas into impactful local initiatives. This follow-up not only shared the knowledge gained in Cyprus but also planted the seeds for a more sustainable and proactive community in Romania.

Follow-up Report – SCRATCH-PRO
Date:
25 July 2025
Location: Zbor Hub, Iași, Romania
Participants: 25 youth workers and young people

As part of the dissemination activities for the project "SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MATTERS: from scratch to pitch (SCRATCH-PRO)", We organised a follow-up session at Zbor Hub, bringing together 25 youth workers and young people from our local community. The aim was to share the knowledge, tools, and inspiration gained during the training in Cyprus and to encourage participants to explore entrepreneurship as a means of creating positive social and environmental impact.

The session was divided into three main parts. First, we introduced the concept of entrepreneurship in the context of sustainability, highlighting practical methods for developing viable business ideas that address community needs. Participants discussed real-world examples and reflected on how these models could be adapted locally.

Secondly, we explored leadership initiatives, focusing on how young people can take ownership of projects and drive change within their communities. We worked in small groups to identify common challenges and brainstorm leadership strategies tailored to local realities. Finally, we addressed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), linking each participant's project ideas to relevant goals. This helped them understand how local actions can contribute to global objectives.

The event concluded with participants presenting their ideas, receiving peer feedback, and identifying first steps for implementation. Feedback collected showed increased confidence, clearer understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship, and motivation to take action. This follow-up activity confirmed the long-term value of the SCRATCH-PRO experience, as it not only strengthened the competences of youth workers but also inspired local youths to become proactive in shaping a more sustainable future.

Evaluation paragraphs from Romanian participants

Daria

Projects organised by ACPELIA are always high-quality (this is the second one made by this organisation that I attend). As a participant, I felt safe and cared for, while also being educated on the topic.kept busy and engaged. Overall, it was an extremely valuable project, and I would gladly participate again. However, some activities left me a bit confused, either due to their structure or the way they were presented.

Maria

As a first time participant in a project organised by ACPELIA, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and creativity of the facilitators. I enjoyed all the activities that allowed me to explore my creativity. I am also grateful for their involvement in making me feel welcome in all the activities, though not all of them were adapted for wheelchair users. I was also listened to and asked for advice and feedback. I hope I will have the chance to take part in another project organised by you.

Bianca

It's my third project organized by ACPELIA, and I never get bored. I liked not only the accommodation and food but also the facilitators and the theme. I'm very grateful for this opportunity, and I hope I will participate in more projects with this organization. I also liked the fact that the activities were not only theoretical but also combined with theater or little games that made it easier to learn and understand specific terms.

Alex

This was my first project organized by ACPELIA, and it was a very enriching experience. I really appreciated the friendly and inclusive atmosphere created by the team, which made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. The sessions were engaging and diverse, with a good mix of theory and interactive activities that kept us involved. I especially liked the creative methods used to explore the topic. Although it was my first time working with this organization, I would definitely like to join other projects in the future and deepen my connection with such an inspiring community.
